We appreciate your interest in the City of Gainesville’s Small, Minority, Woman, and Service-Disabled Veteran Business Program. Local small businesses support the City of Gainesville's overall economic development and the City is committed to their success, growth and development. To help you be more successful, the City has adopted the Small, Minority, Woman, and Service-Disabled Veteran Business Program. The program provides significant opportunities for qualified local small businesses to participate on a nondiscriminatory basis in all aspects of the City's contracting and procurement programs as well as providing other needed business services.

*Minimum eligibility requirements necessary to become certified:

Your business's principal location with full-time personnel must be located within Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Gilchrist, Levy, Putnam, or Union County.
Have a net worth of less than $5 million.
Have 200 or fewer full-time permanent employees.
Be a U.S. citizen who is legally registered to do business in Florida as a for-profit organization (registration through the Department of State).
Be owned or managed by a resident(s) of Florida.
Be engaged in commercial transactions (currently doing business).
Have a professional license, if required by the industry.

*Please note that these are the minimum requirements to become certified with the City of Gainesville. These requirements do not guarantee certification.
